Ever been to a local coffee shop and immediately fell in love with everything about it? From the moment you step in to the moment you're greeted by the friendly owner with a big smile, to your first sip of heavenly java. And not to mention the company you're with, whether it's your best friend, acquaintance, or simply yourself.
That's how I felt when I went to 9 Bars.
It was a sunny Thursday afternoon when I made the trek up midtown towards St. Clair and Yonge for a coffee date with a friend and fellow entrepreneur. I had a wonderful experience here, and time really flew by. What was originally intended for one hour soon turned into two hours. What can I say? With great hospitality, free Wi-Fi and excellent coffee, they make it easy to prolong your stay here. As a freelancer, I've had the pleasure of hopping around to local shops in Toronto, many of which are notably awesome but it wasn't until now that I finally decided to feature a coffee shop on my blog.
I can't rave enough about the atmosphere because it's unlike any other coffee joint I've been to before. The room is spacious and cozy with wine coloured walls, faux wood and a large communal table that brings a rustic feel.
The coffee is not to be taken lightly, as the gents here at 9 Bars can whip up a serious cappuccino that will have you wishing you can live off of it forever. I enjoyed a freshly brewed cortado, which is an espresso with a small amount of steamed milk. Simply put, I always jump at the opportunity to order a cortado and I love them as much as the Spanish love afternoon siestas.
If you're in need of a quick business lunch or a late afternoon snack, you can treat yourself to their baked goods, soups, pastries, and house-made sandwiches that are perfect for on the go. The sandwiches are known to be delicious, so I'm already planning meticulously in the works on my return to try one.
